Layer & Strand exists to make skin, scalp and hair-care information easier to inspect. We connect ingredient evidence, formula details, product context and practical routines without treating marketing copy as proof.
Our initial focus is India, where climate, availability, price and skin-tone considerations can change what “good” advice looks like. The underlying architecture is designed to support other markets without pretending that one catalogue or regulatory context applies everywhere.
Our working standard
We prefer a clear “unknown” to a confident invention. We distinguish research from editorial judgement, product identity from a particular formula, and a product from the retailer that happens to sell it. We disclose commercial links and do not imply hands-on testing unless it happened under a stated method.
Layer & Strand is not a diagnosis service. When a symptom pattern needs a dermatologist or another qualified professional, the useful thing is to say so.
